Foundation of Long Range Hunting

Barbour Creek Shooting Academy’s Long Range Hunting School –  Level 1 – Foundation of Long Range Hunting course is designed with the shooter that is new to long range hunting in mind. This course is a beginners course with some advanced techniques for even the most seasoned shooter. Our Instruction is designed to build on each level and has 50% classroom and 50% range time each day. You will learn everything you need to know about: Rifle Components, Scopes, MOA/Milliradian, 1st and 2nd Focal Plane, Max Range on Animals, Proper Shooting Techniques, Internal and External Ballistics, Air Pressure/Density, Using a Ballistic Program, Correct Spotting Techniques, Cleaning and Maintenance, Ammunition, Powder Selection for Long-Range Hunting, Wind calling, reading and Mirage Basics, Bullet Types for Long-Range Hunting , Operating Rangefinders and using a Ballistic Rangefinder, And More!

The Average L1 Student will feel Confident Shooting Steel out to 1000 Yards and Hunting out to 800 Yards
The first 100 rounds of ammunition are provided. Any additional ammo can be purchased at $64 per 50 round box.

 Required Equipment

 None Required: You are welcome to bring your own rifle and ammunition to be used after the course. During the course, Barbour Creek rifles and ammunition will be used.

James Eagleman

MSG (RET) James Eagleman is a 26 year Army Sniper and Instructor. He was selected as the Honor Graduate of the U.S. Army Sniper School and U.S. Army 5th Special Forces Target Interdiction Course  (SOTIC). James Is a Master Instructor and has trained Snipers from Conventional Soldiers, Special Operations Soldiers and Foreign Snipers worldwide. He has the distinct ability to take the most difficult Ballistic subject and teach it in a manner that anyone can understand and apply. Because of his unique training abilities he is recognized by many as one of the best long-range instructors in the civilian world today, and is also the former Director of Shooting Instruction for Gunwerks Long-Range University.

James not only brings years of  military experience with combat and expeditionary deployments overseas, but also has over two years instructing and training civilians in Long-Range Hunting, internal and external ballistics. His revolutionary wind calling technique is considered by many to be the most comprehensive taught anywhere in the world. He has been featured on the television show Long Range Pursuit, numerous firearms blogs and magazine articles as well as instructional videos online. His passion is training students in the art of Long-Range Hunting and watching them learn and grow.

GUNS AND AMMUNITION

Guns and 100 rounds of ammunition are provided for class $64.00 a box of 50 if you want to shoot more.

You are welcome to bring your own gun and ammo to shoot after class

CANCELLATION AND CHARGE POLICY

$500.00 deposit is refundable 45 days prior to arrival. After that it is non refundable but can be moved to a different date.
